00:00:00.050 --> 00:00:02.879
Hey guys, I'm Pixeladdy and this is my Pokemon story.
00:00:42.029 --> 00:00:46.768
Welcome to, as the pokeball turns, we're going to interview people about their experience with Pokemon.
00:00:47.209 --> 00:00:48.929
My name is David Hernandez.
00:00:49.368 --> 00:00:55.642
Today, I'm joined by Pixel Addy, an anime inspired pixel artist here to share his Pokemon experience.
00:00:55.978 --> 00:00:57.478
Pixel Addy, welcome to the show.
00:00:57.792 --> 00:00:58.671
Hello, hello!
00:00:58.994 --> 00:01:05.394
Before we started talking, I told you, like, I'm a huge fan of what you do, and I was excited that you decided to come on and share your experience.
00:01:05.688 --> 00:01:12.534
And we're going to dive into the whole experience with Pokemon, but I want to ask, like, what is it about pixel art that you wanted to like do with what you do?
00:01:13.129 --> 00:01:15.489
I mean, I've always been a pretty artistic guy.
00:01:15.498 --> 00:01:18.289
Like growing up as a kid, I, I used to draw a lot.
00:01:18.605 --> 00:01:23.668
it was mainly paper, pencil, you know, that type of just sketching, doodling, that type of stuff.
00:01:24.149 --> 00:01:28.549
And then as I got older, I started playing around with different digital art.
00:01:28.549 --> 00:01:29.605
And then, I don't know.
00:01:29.605 --> 00:01:30.864
I just came across Pixlr.
00:01:30.864 --> 00:01:32.635
I know, I'm a fan too.
00:01:32.644 --> 00:01:35.671
So, you know, going on Instagram, I would see Pixlr all the time.
00:01:35.902 --> 00:01:38.132
It seemed like something cool, so I tested it out.
00:01:38.621 --> 00:01:41.992
I really only started, beginning of 2022, I think.
00:01:42.272 --> 00:01:43.981
That's when I started really playing around.
00:01:43.981 --> 00:01:45.155
I found, Aseprite.
00:01:45.459 --> 00:01:48.918
for anyone that's listening, Aseprite is the software that I use.
00:01:49.269 --> 00:01:50.739
I think I paid, yeah, 15 bucks.
00:01:50.739 --> 00:01:51.638
It was a one time payment.
00:01:51.649 --> 00:01:52.649
You get the software.
00:01:52.649 --> 00:01:55.147
And then I just started playing around in the software.
00:01:55.149 --> 00:02:00.944
I instantly fell in love with, the art and, Started doing random artworks, random pokemon stuff.
00:02:01.246 --> 00:02:12.467
pixel art in general I dove into that because I had just seen it on instagram and stuff like that I just kind of wanted to dip my own toes into that and try it out because i'd always loved art and Yeah, lo and behold.
00:02:12.467 --> 00:02:13.117
I enjoyed it.
00:02:13.117 --> 00:02:15.717
So I kept going with it and I have kept going from there.
00:02:16.332 --> 00:02:20.902
I was wondering, so you said, you know, you did like paper and you were doing basic digital art before you did pixel art.
00:02:21.443 --> 00:02:26.973
What was the biggest challenge or transition from doing digital art or paper art to doing pixels?
00:02:26.973 --> 00:02:27.823
Is there a challenge?
00:02:27.823 --> 00:02:28.203
Or
00:02:28.788 --> 00:02:39.838
Honestly, the biggest challenge is like learning the software because obviously at the beginning when I started using a sprite I didn't really know how it worked And I get a lot of people asking me to this day.
00:02:39.868 --> 00:02:41.788
Oh, like can you give me tips on a sprite?
00:02:41.788 --> 00:02:50.450
Can you and honestly, there's no real like Like there's no crash course I can give you in like an Instagram DM or a message to like help you learn a Sprite.
00:02:50.450 --> 00:02:53.341
It's all about just hopping in the software yourself.
00:02:53.561 --> 00:02:55.411
I mean, this goes for any software, not just a Sprite.
00:02:55.411 --> 00:02:58.531
I think this goes for any like pixel art software or any software period.
00:02:58.838 --> 00:03:04.729
You just got to hop in there yourself and, you know, start playing around, start testing different features, testing different buttons.
00:03:04.729 --> 00:03:07.158
And then, you know, it took me a lot of just.
00:03:07.158 --> 00:03:12.438
Messing up and then Googling what I did wrong and, you know, YouTube tutorials and all that.
00:03:12.438 --> 00:03:15.519
And I still learn new stuff about the software every day.
00:03:15.609 --> 00:03:20.628
So that was definitely the biggest learning curve when it came to transitioning over from pencil and paper.
00:03:20.949 --> 00:03:29.626
cause obviously when you're drawing with your hand, like, I don't know, I guess it flows more cause it's just there and you can erase anything real quick with an eraser.
00:03:29.935 --> 00:03:34.161
that's what I would say for the biggest learning curve is definitely learning the software itself
00:03:34.754 --> 00:03:41.675
I think that's kind of the biggest hurdle for anybody who does anything creative, because I think we'd like to go into it wanting to know everything.
00:03:42.275 --> 00:03:52.235
And, you know, whether it's artistic, whether it's streaming, you know, podcasting, whatever you have, you, I think even myself, I always wanted to, like, I felt like I need to know everything before I'm really ready.
00:03:52.754 --> 00:03:54.064
And there's, you're never really ready.
00:03:54.064 --> 00:03:56.305
Sometimes you have to fly by the seat of your pants.
00:03:56.640 --> 00:04:06.514
And it's hard for people because you know, we have high expectations because we see people who do amazing stuff and we like, we want to be there, but we forget that they all started where we're trying to get to as well.
00:04:07.098 --> 00:04:14.824
honestly, I still think like I know I get a lot of messages saying like oh you're so good at pixel or whatever I genuinely don't think i'm that good.
00:04:14.844 --> 00:04:30.329
I think i'm still a beginner There are so many other artists on instagram that I see that are amazing and I honestly You I don't even think I'm anywhere close to how good those people are, so I'm always learning still, like even to this day, every couple weeks or so, I'll discover a new feature that Aseprite has that I never even knew.
00:04:30.689 --> 00:04:35.699
So, I think it's all about just hopping in the software and just, getting to know it as much as possible.
00:04:35.949 --> 00:04:41.678
But, like you said, I think the best way is to just, do it, you know, like Shia LaBeouf said, just, just do it.
00:04:42.278 --> 00:04:42.918
Like Nike.
00:04:44.673 --> 00:04:45.372
Exactly,
00:04:45.968 --> 00:04:49.658
We'll come back to your art side in a little bit, but I want to ask, let's start at the end of the Pokemon side.
00:04:49.778 --> 00:04:51.939
What's your first experience with the franchise?
00:04:52.533 --> 00:04:58.761
Okay, so, for Pokemon, So funny enough, I was actually, as a kid, I was first into Yu Gi Oh.
00:04:59.180 --> 00:05:02.860
so I have an older brother, I was into Yu Gi Oh!, he was into Pokemon.
00:05:03.321 --> 00:05:05.641
And he would collect Pokemon cards.
00:05:05.880 --> 00:05:14.951
I mean, I had a little, you know, a little collection of Pokemon cards too, but my main collection was Yu Gi Oh! And then, over time I started looking into Pokemon more.
00:05:15.290 --> 00:05:17.850
And just Pokemon in general was bigger, I would say.
00:05:18.161 --> 00:05:25.088
Yu Gi Oh! was pretty big in its own respect, but, you know, at school and stuff everyone had game boys and they were playing pokemon pokemon yellow stuff like that.
00:05:25.478 --> 00:05:27.927
So I started just collecting cards.
00:05:27.937 --> 00:05:37.720
That was my first introduction obviously, I also watched like the shows I remember watching the movie, you know, The first the original movie It's the one with the clones.
00:05:38.045 --> 00:05:42.485
I did an artwork about it, but yeah, I don't actually know the I had it on a cassette tape, VHS tape.
00:05:42.485 --> 00:05:43.774
but I don't know where that's gone.
00:05:44.064 --> 00:05:50.559
so yeah, but, it was pretty much just watching random episodes of, Indigo League on TV, and then just the cards.
00:05:50.559 --> 00:05:53.019
But I would say the cards were definitely my first introduction.
00:05:53.019 --> 00:05:54.009
to the franchise.
00:05:54.603 --> 00:05:55.444
You know, it takes me back.
00:05:55.454 --> 00:05:57.483
Cause I used to be very big into you as well.
00:05:57.644 --> 00:05:59.814
Like I would collect the cards and I was so big.
00:05:59.814 --> 00:06:03.144
I felt such like a big, proud guy having all three blue eyes.
00:06:03.144 --> 00:06:04.624
I'm like, yes, now I'm set.
00:06:04.624 --> 00:06:04.723
Okay.
00:06:04.723 --> 00:06:08.733
And I love kind of the similarities.
00:06:08.744 --> 00:06:11.574
Sometimes people will bring with the blue eyes and Charizard.
00:06:12.043 --> 00:06:16.074
They'll put the chars on the blue eyes artwork in it and then they'll put blue eyes as chars.
00:06:16.074 --> 00:06:17.363
It's kind of cool to see the similarity
00:06:17.478 --> 00:06:18.319
seen a few of those.
00:06:18.319 --> 00:06:19.189
They're, they're pretty cool.
00:06:19.641 --> 00:06:20.571
when it came to that.
00:06:20.571 --> 00:06:21.880
So did you ever play the games at all?
00:06:21.880 --> 00:06:23.790
Or was it just primarily the enemy in the cards?
00:06:24.136 --> 00:06:24.406
Yeah.
00:06:24.406 --> 00:06:33.175
So, By the time I was like big enough to actually play the games So I knew people that were playing like at school people would play Pokemon yellow Stuff like that growing up.
00:06:33.475 --> 00:06:42.005
so basically my parents never really let me have video games Super Eastern European parents, you know, they were pretty strict.
00:06:42.185 --> 00:06:50.312
We were also immigrants because we we came to Canada And I guess they didn't have much money And so I didn't have the luxury of having like a game boy or something like that.
00:06:50.312 --> 00:06:55.411
So, but also they were kind of against video games in general cause they thought it was a waste of time, yada, yada, yada.
00:06:55.411 --> 00:07:00.942
So I never really had one for myself, but I would always play on, you know, my friends game boys and stuff like that.
00:07:00.942 --> 00:07:01.752
And I always loved it.
00:07:01.752 --> 00:07:02.512
I was addicted.
00:07:02.838 --> 00:07:06.548
but having my, my own game, I never, I never really played it on my own.
00:07:06.882 --> 00:07:10.391
but the first games I, I remember playing were Pokemon Red.
00:07:10.696 --> 00:07:16.055
and people used to play Yellow as well, but that was the first game I pretty much played Pokemon Red.
00:07:16.670 --> 00:07:24.060
So, you know, your parents, you know, they were against you playing video games, but they didn't mind you diving into the card click games, it sounds like, because you got to play Yu Gi Oh and you got to collect some Pokemon.
00:07:24.396 --> 00:07:33.365
Oh, yeah, no, they were cool with the card game because they just saw it as like a thing like it like it almost like a toy But I don't know they were against video games in general at when I was younger.
00:07:33.365 --> 00:07:34.396
So that was kind of it
00:07:35.163 --> 00:07:41.728
when it came to like, playing Pokemon, you know, you were collecting cards, of course you're also in the Yu Gi Oh, what made you want to stick with the franchise over time?
00:07:41.728 --> 00:07:43.228
Or did you kind of wean off at that point?
00:07:43.807 --> 00:07:46.646
Yeah, so, pretty much this is kind of the timeline.
00:07:46.725 --> 00:07:53.826
So, as a kid, really enjoyed Pokemon, collected the cards, had a bunch of cards, would go to garage sales, buy more cards.
00:07:53.865 --> 00:07:55.185
I had a decent collection.
00:07:55.216 --> 00:07:57.185
I still have a lot of the cards, actually.
00:07:57.461 --> 00:08:03.471
Never really had like a game board or anything like that or even like the DS, but I had a lot of friends You know growing up at school and stuff like that.
00:08:03.471 --> 00:08:19.810
I would play a lot of the games The last game that I really remember playing like a lot as a kid was pokemon platinum so one of my good friends he had platinum and that's the game that I really got into because I At the time I think I was grade eight Seven six.
00:08:19.961 --> 00:08:20.201
I don't
00:08:20.341 --> 00:08:21.081
so middle school.
00:08:21.091 --> 00:08:21.641
Yeah.
00:08:21.646 --> 00:08:27.216
Yeah, middle school, I played a lot of Platinum, Diamond, Pearl, that type of, Gen 4 essentially.
00:08:27.636 --> 00:08:32.918
And then After Plat Black and White came out and I never played that, never touched that.
00:08:32.918 --> 00:08:34.889
I always thought it was kind of, you know.
00:08:34.928 --> 00:08:37.339
I was a big Gen 4 guy after, I played Platinum.
00:08:37.339 --> 00:08:39.499
And I just thought Gen 5 was weird.
00:08:39.499 --> 00:08:41.379
So I was like, okay, I'm just going to take a break.
00:08:41.729 --> 00:08:46.219
And I never really got back into Pokemon until like 2020, after that.
00:08:46.658 --> 00:08:50.797
I still had all my cards and stuff, but I kind of stepped away from the whole, franchise as a whole.
00:08:50.807 --> 00:08:52.927
Like, I obviously, I still liked Pokemon, but, yeah.
00:08:52.927 --> 00:08:59.547
I never really Played any other games after gen 4 until 2020 then that's when I started getting back into the hobby and stuff.
00:08:59.547 --> 00:08:59.897
So
00:09:00.490 --> 00:09:03.950
What was it about Gen 4 that you enjoyed compared to what you saw in Gen 5?
00:09:04.345 --> 00:09:12.889
Honestly, I don't know I was just a kid I just thought like I had learned Gen 4 inside and out, and when Gen 5 came out, I just felt like, ah, I don't even want.
00:09:13.139 --> 00:09:15.489
You know, I was just loyal to my Gen 4.
00:09:15.979 --> 00:09:26.818
Even though now, nowadays, I still to this day have, not played, Pokemon Black and White, but I hear from so many people that they are some of the best games in the franchise, so I've been meaning to go back and play them.
00:09:27.068 --> 00:09:34.678
I love the Gen 2 games, honestly, like, HeartGold, SoulSilver, those are some of the best games, and one of my favorite legendaries is Lugia, so that's why I always loved SoulSilver.
00:09:35.789 --> 00:09:38.429
is Luie your favorite Pokemon or do you have a different favorite Pokemon
00:09:38.730 --> 00:09:42.506
No, so I I don't really have one favorite, to be completely honest.
00:09:42.537 --> 00:09:45.349
I get a lot of questions on my Instagram, like, who's your favorite Pokemon?
00:09:45.369 --> 00:09:49.889
I have a list of ones that I enjoy, but I wouldn't say I have one set favorite.
00:09:50.192 --> 00:09:51.471
yeah, I like Lugia.
00:09:51.471 --> 00:09:52.981
I like a lot of the starters.
00:09:53.293 --> 00:10:00.964
I like Snorlax, Gengar, Umbreon, you know, some of the, Super basic, you know, mainstream ones.
00:10:01.296 --> 00:10:03.846
Charizard was always my starter for gen one.
00:10:04.245 --> 00:10:06.905
I don't know why I don't really like the starters from gen two.
00:10:07.105 --> 00:10:09.456
Those are like some of my least favorite starters.
00:10:09.796 --> 00:10:11.586
I might get heat for that, but yeah, I don't know.
00:10:11.615 --> 00:10:13.645
I think they're kind of overrated.
00:10:13.967 --> 00:10:14.804
Yeah,
00:10:15.004 --> 00:10:16.174
Fire shots fired,
00:10:16.855 --> 00:10:19.565
think, honestly.
00:10:19.929 --> 00:10:25.139
I think Gen 2 starters are overrated and I think Gen 3 starters are underrated.
00:10:25.736 --> 00:10:31.346
So when it came to you coming back in 2020 for Pokemon, what made you want to come back to the franchise?
00:10:31.356 --> 00:10:32.297
Why at that point,
00:10:32.879 --> 00:10:42.542
Okay, so, that has to do a lot more with, I was watching this one, like, influencer that I, I, liked outside of Pokemon, and he started buying Pokemon cards for fun.
00:10:43.062 --> 00:10:44.861
Like, and ripping them on his stream.
00:10:45.172 --> 00:10:47.625
And through that, I discovered PokeRev.
00:10:47.918 --> 00:10:55.644
And, so I was just casually watching Pokerev, this was early 2020, And then, Pokerev was blowing up at this time.
00:10:55.961 --> 00:10:58.801
And then that's kinda when also the Logan Paul stuff happened.
00:10:59.128 --> 00:11:02.048
Around that time I was like not really touching Pokemon stuff.
00:11:02.048 --> 00:11:04.398
I was just like, you know, an old Pokemon fan.
00:11:04.727 --> 00:11:08.048
And it was just cool to revisit it through this guy's streams.
00:11:08.365 --> 00:11:11.995
One time in Walmart I was just walking through with my brother.
00:11:12.525 --> 00:11:15.408
And I had been watching these streams, you know, these pack openings.
00:11:15.408 --> 00:11:34.532
So I was like, okay, yo I saw some pokemon packs and I was like, it was xy evolutions and I told my brother I was like, yo Let's grab some packs just for old time's sake and I remember xy evolutions I remember I had seen it on the streams and it was like a Og set reprint, you know of like the original set base set So I was like, let's see if we can pull the Charizard.
00:11:34.759 --> 00:11:38.639
We go home, we rip into those, and I think like third pack we pull the Charizard.
00:11:39.229 --> 00:11:41.316
And honestly, the rest is history.
00:11:41.316 --> 00:11:43.035
Like after that I was hooked again.
00:11:43.076 --> 00:11:48.265
And I was, I just got that rush of, nostalgia that I used to get from just opening packs as a kid.
00:11:48.615 --> 00:11:50.535
So I started getting back into the card game.
00:11:50.816 --> 00:11:58.066
the real OGs that have been following me are like, for a while, they know that I actually started my page as Pokey Addy.
00:11:58.323 --> 00:12:05.147
I had an account called poke addy and I would post card content like tcg content I would just like buy cards, buy packs.
00:12:05.197 --> 00:12:14.565
I did like a couple pack battles with some followers and stuff So that was like my reintroduction And then Midway through that account, I actually discovered pixel art.
00:12:14.565 --> 00:12:19.315
I started doing pixel art and then some people wanted to commission me to do trainers for them.
00:12:19.315 --> 00:12:28.889
And then I fell into this rabbit hole of realizing that pixel art was both one fun and two, there was demand for this and like people wanted me to make art for them.
00:12:28.889 --> 00:12:31.928
So I kind of turned into a little side hobby for me.
00:12:32.527 --> 00:12:36.519
so yeah, that was kinda from 2020 how I transitioned into what it is now.
00:12:37.130 --> 00:12:37.671
that's awesome.
00:12:37.671 --> 00:12:41.630
That how it transitioned from you just opening some card packs to now becoming a pixel artist.
00:12:41.630 --> 00:12:43.530
It's kind of a interesting transition.
00:12:44.192 --> 00:12:46.383
Honestly, I still collect cards to this day.
00:12:46.676 --> 00:12:48.623
You'll see it even on my, like, Instagram.
00:12:48.633 --> 00:12:52.645
Like, here and there I'll post, like stuff on my story about like card openings and stuff like that.
00:12:52.946 --> 00:12:55.306
I have some story highlights of cards I've opened.
00:12:55.485 --> 00:12:56.879
I'm still a big collector.
00:12:56.879 --> 00:12:57.710
I have my, cards.
00:12:58.013 --> 00:13:03.283
I've kind of cooled down on the Scarlet and Violet, but Sword and Shield, I was collecting a ton, to be honest.
00:13:03.283 --> 00:13:10.462
So I had a lot of, I still have a lot of sealed product that I'm collecting as well as just binders full of cards from the Sword and Shield era.
00:13:11.065 --> 00:13:15.674
Do you have a particular set of cards you'd like to collect, or do you like to go after certain Pokemon to collect?
00:13:16.258 --> 00:13:18.307
For a while I was doing waifus.
00:13:18.357 --> 00:13:18.817
No, okay.
00:13:18.888 --> 00:13:19.918
Actually that's cap.
00:13:20.028 --> 00:13:21.238
I was not doing waifus.
00:13:22.107 --> 00:13:24.307
I was doing like full art trainers.
00:13:24.307 --> 00:13:28.967
I'm not gonna say waifus because I, I enjoy even the male trainers So it's not just the waifus.
00:13:28.998 --> 00:13:38.551
But yeah, I just like the full art trainers I don't know there's something about sets that I like so like I liked the shining Pokemon Like shining lugia and all those that came out for shining legends.
00:13:38.831 --> 00:13:51.041
I liked the the amazing rares Although, you know, I bought them and they were pretty expensive and now they're like pennies but yeah, I just like the sets of cards like Do you know like the Prism Star cards from like Sun and Moon?
00:13:51.345 --> 00:13:52.745
I have the full set of those.
00:13:53.041 --> 00:13:53.311
I don't know.
00:13:53.311 --> 00:13:58.431
I just like sets as well as like full art trainers, but I just honestly I I just collect what I like.
00:13:58.780 --> 00:13:59.750
Something looks cool.
00:13:59.780 --> 00:14:00.461
I collect it.
00:14:00.913 --> 00:14:05.582
for me, it's not the Full Art trainers, but do you remember the Gym Hero trainers?
00:14:05.602 --> 00:14:07.773
Back when, like, it was like the Blaine and Kogas
00:14:07.807 --> 00:14:08.697
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:14:09.253 --> 00:14:12.482
So I collected the holo of those cards, just because I always liked them.
00:14:12.543 --> 00:14:15.413
I know they're not Full Art, but it's just more for nostalgia reasons.
00:14:15.607 --> 00:14:16.347
yeah, that's sick.
00:14:16.398 --> 00:14:16.967
That's sick.
00:14:17.416 --> 00:14:21.395
And then right now, what I'm trying to work on, I'm trying to collect all the Blackstar promos.
00:14:21.765 --> 00:14:23.655
And I'm trying to get one of every Articuno card.
00:14:23.686 --> 00:14:24.946
Although that's a little more difficult.
00:14:25.505 --> 00:14:26.706
Is Articuno your favorite?
00:14:27.173 --> 00:14:28.822
Yes, that is my favorite Pokemon.
00:14:29.179 --> 00:14:30.220
That's sick, that's sick.
00:14:30.240 --> 00:14:31.019
That's a good pick.
00:14:31.320 --> 00:14:32.490
I do like Articuno.
00:14:33.029 --> 00:14:33.320
Yeah.
00:14:33.559 --> 00:14:35.009
I'm looking through your old stuff, actually.
00:14:35.059 --> 00:14:36.850
It shows all the cards you had.
00:14:36.879 --> 00:14:37.990
Yeah, exactly.
00:14:38.288 --> 00:15:02.311
any OG person that's been following me since like I started my like Pixelati account will know that I started on Pokeyati and I kind of just transferred over so I midway through that I realized because early on in my Pokeyati account, I did follow for follow, just because like I was new to Instagram I was like yo who wants to do follow for follow yada yada yada, and it really killed my engagement because I had like a bunch of followers that didn't care about what I was posting.
00:15:02.321 --> 00:15:03.951
They just followed because I followed them.
00:15:04.258 --> 00:15:05.447
So then I was like, you know what?
00:15:05.750 --> 00:15:07.770
Let me start a brand new fresh account.
00:15:07.770 --> 00:15:10.311
you know, I'm not going to tell us any single person to follow me.
00:15:10.500 --> 00:15:15.498
I'm just going to post what I post and see who follows me for, them genuinely just enjoying my work.
00:15:15.807 --> 00:15:16.768
And so that's what I did.
00:15:16.778 --> 00:15:18.827
And that's how Pixelati came about.
00:15:18.827 --> 00:15:24.107
So I started that, I think in like 2022, but in 2020, yeah, that's when Pokeade started.
00:15:24.107 --> 00:15:26.660
That's so I've, I've really been doing this for four years.
00:15:26.660 --> 00:15:29.650
like the card collecting and then I started the artwork like later.
00:15:30.071 --> 00:15:33.957
So, that's like the OG, you know, lore of, my stuff.
00:15:34.538 --> 00:15:40.748
if I remember correctly on Instagram, some of your first posts were you actually recreated some of the Pokemon cards in the pixel art, right?
00:15:41.077 --> 00:16:08.114
yeah, even if you scroll back into, My like current instagram pixelati you can see I was posting like my commissions That's like when I started doing art and then like I posted the the base at charizard card pixelated That was also kind of one of my earliest artworks So you could tell like there's a lot of the tcg like influence in it And then, I was also doing, kind of like a Pokédex type thing, where I would just pick my favorite artwork of each Pokémon.
00:16:08.714 --> 00:16:09.894
And I did it in the order.
00:16:10.356 --> 00:16:12.647
I'm looking at it now, I think I stopped at Venonat.
00:16:13.274 --> 00:16:18.565
So, that's what I tried to do with my card collecting,, I try to say I'm just pick my favorite card to complete a Potex.
00:16:18.565 --> 00:16:22.414
And it's so hard because there's so many good arts for some of these Pokemon.
00:16:22.445 --> 00:16:24.325
It's like trying to pick my own child.
00:16:24.335 --> 00:16:25.294
I don't even have one.
00:16:25.325 --> 00:16:26.004
exactly.
00:16:26.004 --> 00:16:26.845
Yeah, that's the thing.
00:16:26.845 --> 00:16:42.235
I don't know why but I just tended to Pick the most expensive artwork not like based on cost But I would pick the artwork that I liked the most and I would check eBay and it just so happened to be the most expensive so I'd be like, oh Guess I can't collect that But I guess everyone likes them.
00:16:42.235 --> 00:16:44.924
So that makes sense because they're a nice art.
00:17:32.262 --> 00:17:37.863
so you said eventually that you came into doing pixel art because of the cards and you started doing commissions.
00:17:38.202 --> 00:17:49.772
When you transition to becoming a pixel artist and you started receiving demand for commissions Was it difficult for you to like start selling your artwork and to just manage that business side of things?
