WEBVTT
00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:02.680
I am GrunesDragon, and this is my Pokémon story.
00:00:42.018 --> 00:00:46.737
Welcome to As the Pokeball Turns, where we interview people about their experience with Pokemon.
00:00:47.298 --> 00:00:53.777
My name is David Hernandez and today I'm joined by an artist known as Groon's Dragon.
00:00:54.128 --> 00:00:55.637
Groon, welcome to the show.
00:01:03.241 --> 00:01:03.871
There we go.
00:01:03.871 --> 00:01:04.882
We're getting in the spirit now.
00:01:04.882 --> 00:01:05.441
I like it.
00:01:05.581 --> 00:01:15.742
Uh, I'm going to guess that you love dragons because obviously your username and for those who couldn't hear it, it's actually a dragon drawers.
00:01:15.742 --> 00:01:16.712
What she did, I believe.
00:01:18.121 --> 00:01:19.641
Yes, I believe so.
00:01:20.646 --> 00:01:22.355
Honestly, that would be an interesting dragon.
00:01:22.605 --> 00:01:33.402
Yes, In my sort of art and in my furry adjacent ways, I started IDing with dragons, dragon type Pokémon, dragons in general, and drawing them a lot.
00:01:33.971 --> 00:01:39.891
I would say 2013, 14, and that has just kind of been my life since.
00:01:40.486 --> 00:01:42.646
What was it about dragons that appeal to you?
00:01:43.355 --> 00:01:49.546
I think it was partially drawing these things is satisfying as hell because you can't technically make mistakes.
00:01:49.871 --> 00:01:56.712
Uh, and you can also do, you know, very, you know, very swirly, fluffy sort of manes and whiskers and body shapes.
00:01:57.118 --> 00:02:02.099
And just do badass drawings as well without that much effort put into making it look badass.
00:02:02.554 --> 00:02:04.543
You know, you just gave me more hope as an artist.
00:02:04.543 --> 00:02:06.174
I'm like, you really can't mess up a dragon.
00:02:06.174 --> 00:02:08.253
Like, how could you really mess one up?
00:02:08.848 --> 00:02:13.929
I mean, do you see some of the dragon designs that come out on like mass produced merchandise that are ugly as hell?
00:02:14.403 --> 00:02:15.183
yeah, I do.
00:02:15.183 --> 00:02:16.324
And they look kind of weird.
00:02:16.645 --> 00:02:17.906
You really can't mess up.
00:02:18.497 --> 00:02:19.176
I got to ask you this.
00:02:19.176 --> 00:02:21.236
So what is it like with dragon Pokemon?
00:02:21.257 --> 00:02:24.336
Like, do you have any like particular favorites that remind you of a dragon?
00:02:24.627 --> 00:02:27.287
Are there's any that you just like are completely turned off by?
00:02:27.882 --> 00:02:30.681
there are some I beleive Fridgebax.
00:02:31.412 --> 00:02:33.512
I don't know how much I need to explain.
00:02:33.842 --> 00:02:36.502
Fridgebax does not appeal to me design wise.
00:02:36.882 --> 00:02:38.241
It is an ugly little bugger.
00:02:38.241 --> 00:02:39.081
I'm sorry.
00:02:39.388 --> 00:02:42.298
I know it is not a dragon type, but uh, screw everything.
00:02:42.663 --> 00:02:48.992
I like pirated Pokemon the Movie 2000 when I was a teenager and that permanently changed my brain chemistry.
00:02:49.310 --> 00:02:50.349
really, why?
00:02:50.954 --> 00:02:55.503
Something about Lugia's just elegance and character and the way it was animated.
00:02:55.843 --> 00:03:00.413
And later on, the same thing happened when I had the opportunity to see, the Zoroark movie.
00:03:01.104 --> 00:03:03.354
Oh, was that also a pirated movie, I assume?
00:03:03.859 --> 00:03:08.118
Oh, yeah, for a while I was not allowed access to any form of mainstream media.
00:03:08.419 --> 00:03:15.019
So when I got some freedom as a teenager in sort of a different household, I just went ham watching all of the stuff that appealed to me.
00:03:15.574 --> 00:03:20.943
It's like I have like 10 years of media I have to catch up to, I gotta start now!
00:03:21.247 --> 00:03:27.100
I still kind of live under a rock when it comes to mainstream media, but there are some things that I definitely wanted to catch up on.
00:03:27.665 --> 00:03:30.705
Hey, I remember when I pirated, what was it, Dragon Ball Evolution?
00:03:30.705 --> 00:03:34.716
I felt like I wanted my money back, ha, sometimes it's not always the best thing.
00:03:35.010 --> 00:03:35.401
Yeah.
00:03:35.997 --> 00:03:37.698
But so you said you don't like Frigidbacks.
00:03:37.717 --> 00:03:39.837
What are some that you do like, Dragon wise?
00:03:40.423 --> 00:03:42.763
I've been warming up to more of them.
00:03:43.066 --> 00:03:46.506
My taste in Pokemon has been evolving over time, which I suppose makes sense.
00:03:46.506 --> 00:03:47.575
Her her her evolving.
00:03:47.996 --> 00:03:48.526
Uh,
00:03:48.901 --> 00:03:49.591
Pun! Hmm.
00:03:49.645 --> 00:04:00.161
yes fantastic I've started to be get more attached to grandpa, which is curious because I just didn't like it for the longest time I thought its face looked stupid and to be fair.
00:04:00.161 --> 00:04:10.764
I think its face still kind of looks stupid But i'm as i've drawn it a couple of times for uh, people's characters or for fusions i've It's fluffiness has started to appeal to me.
00:04:11.212 --> 00:04:14.212
so, you know, you talk about, you know, pirating Pokemon 2000.
00:04:14.353 --> 00:04:17.702
Was that like your first experience into the Pokemon or was it even before that?
00:04:18.057 --> 00:04:28.418
My first experience into Pokemon, and this is a really weird story and I don't know why I remember this, was I was on the school bus and someone left, like, one of those kids magazines lying around.
00:04:28.548 --> 00:04:29.798
I don't remember which one.
00:04:30.113 --> 00:04:32.843
and it had an advertisement for Platinum on the back.
00:04:33.153 --> 00:04:35.483
And for some reason they gave Maylene a Houndoom.
00:04:35.502 --> 00:04:37.973
I don't know why they gave Maylene a Houndoom.
00:04:38.392 --> 00:04:42.163
You know, the way advertising material can just be really inaccurate with Pokemon sometimes.
00:04:43.062 --> 00:04:51.088
and I remember looking at all the designs on that cover and going, I don't care for any of the humans and Houndoom is the only Pokemon on this cover that I'm liking the look of.
00:04:51.418 --> 00:04:56.843
And then proceeded to not have any more exposure to Pokemon other than like the internet, until the Black and White era.
00:04:57.439 --> 00:05:02.119
so black and white was mainly your first, I guess, quote unquote games into the Pokemon franchise.
00:05:02.572 --> 00:05:18.218
My first Pokemon game that I got to actually play, other than playing through most of a ROM of Black and White when it came out, was my friend lent me her cartridge of Y, and I would play it at high school, and I would go and hide in closet in the art room and just play Pokemon Y.
00:05:18.533 --> 00:05:26.083
Our art our art teacher was so chill that he's just like I shouldn't be allowing this but i've said something to you technically So i'm just gonna leave you be
00:05:27.163 --> 00:05:28.362
but why are you hiding in the closet though?
00:05:28.362 --> 00:05:29.622
If you're not hiding from the teacher.
00:05:30.185 --> 00:05:32.196
Then I don't know just to be alone with my game
00:05:32.685 --> 00:05:33.076
Okay.
00:05:33.076 --> 00:05:33.266
Okay.
00:05:33.266 --> 00:05:38.898
That makes more sense is I can imagine the teacher opening the doors like What are you doing here?
00:05:38.927 --> 00:05:39.798
Are you just playing Pokemon?
00:05:39.827 --> 00:05:40.398
Okay, keep going.
00:05:40.398 --> 00:05:40.927
I got it.
00:05:40.927 --> 00:05:42.088
Like you just like you're trying to
00:05:42.783 --> 00:05:46.302
you're supposed to be doing artwork, but you know as long as you get your assignment in I don't care
00:05:46.624 --> 00:05:54.124
and I'm assuming this is still you couldn't like have like mainstream media at home and you were still Restricted I guess so you're kind of having to keep it away from the parents and all that.
00:05:54.432 --> 00:06:03.423
not at that time, but I was still in the habit of Focusing on things other than me mode at home So going to school that would be like the place where I do the fun things
00:06:04.035 --> 00:06:10.291
Will you and your friends like talk about Pokemon, you know once you start playing in everything like that Like how deep did you get into the fandom initially?
00:06:10.896 --> 00:06:11.617
Into the fandom?
00:06:11.846 --> 00:06:13.226
Not very much initially.
00:06:13.437 --> 00:06:24.887
I had a lot going on at that time, I would eventually end up joining the Poki Ask Vlog community, which is still going strong from what I hear, which I'm amazed by, because that is primarily on Tumblr and Tumblr has been some shit.
00:06:25.194 --> 00:06:26.603
Oh, it's been through a lot, my God.
00:06:26.684 --> 00:06:29.494
Tumblr's barely a resemblance of what it used to be.
00:06:29.788 --> 00:06:37.208
Yeah, but it is making a bit of a comeback with the looks over at the dumpster fire far to my right of where Twitter used to be.
00:06:37.632 --> 00:06:39.783
Hey, these dumpster fires have feelings, okay?
00:06:39.783 --> 00:06:41.653
These trubbishes, they matter, okay?
00:06:41.653 --> 00:06:42.733
So don't call it
00:06:42.767 --> 00:06:44.658
Stop setting garbodors on fire.
00:06:44.658 --> 00:06:46.168
Stop cruelty
00:06:46.312 --> 00:06:48.112
The madness, the madness!
00:06:48.562 --> 00:07:05.923
Yeah, Tumblr is making a bit of a comeback and back in the day when it was first sort of booming I ended up starting a couple of pokemon Oc ask blogs and that was a great way to be interacting with people With a common interest I was following Iris Chroma, I believe that's still her username.
00:07:05.923 --> 00:07:12.214
I was following Iris who then went by Tia, Sort of a widely followed very cool pokemon artist though.
00:07:12.214 --> 00:07:31.627
She has transitioned to doing mostly contract work anyway at the time I was following her and she started a pokemon creatives chat in 2016 And that was a initially a skype group but quickly transitioned to a discord server just for pokemon artists to get together and be friends and show off each other's work and i've made some lifelong friends from then
00:07:32.213 --> 00:07:39.992
I guess, It would be in a way like a discord channel nowadays to where y'all just post art and y'all just like oh but like oh this is amazing and y'all's own art kind of thing.
00:07:40.257 --> 00:07:47.613
Yeah, and also just socialize in general, pokemon creatives chat, uh itself shut down 2018
00:07:48.309 --> 00:07:48.988
Aww,
00:07:49.483 --> 00:07:55.863
But uh sort of in an emergency We don't want to lose everybody some of the members put together a second server that we are into this day
00:07:57.925 --> 00:08:02.785
When it comes to art, did you start drawing when you
00:08:03.439 --> 00:08:29.367
I've been drawing since I was a tiny child and I started taking it seriously Sometime around middle school, I guess I had a lot stuff going on in my life that meant that I was just kind of spaced out all the time I wasn't Learning as much from school as I should have been and I wasn't even in school for some periods so I didn't really have a chance to get good at anything in particular But drawing was the one thing I was always doing, even when I was being discouraged.
00:08:29.968 --> 00:08:31.228
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.
00:08:31.228 --> 00:08:32.307
I'm glad that you stuck with it though.
00:08:32.317 --> 00:08:37.977
A lot of people, I don't know, get knocked down cause you know, they get told their art's not good enough or it won't amount to anything.
00:08:37.977 --> 00:08:40.488
You know, it's kind of, it's rough living the artist's life.
00:08:40.966 --> 00:08:41.246
Yeah.
00:08:41.246 --> 00:08:44.206
Drawing was the one thing I could always just go sit down and do.
00:08:44.206 --> 00:08:50.307
And, props to my grandma who was always like showering me in art supplies because she's an abstract artist herself.
00:08:50.628 --> 00:08:51.817
Oh, so it runs in the family.
00:08:52.138 --> 00:08:52.957
I suppose so.
00:08:53.407 --> 00:08:55.216
Do you remember what you used to draw growing up?
00:08:55.216 --> 00:08:57.076
Like, were they just like, cartoons?
00:08:57.076 --> 00:08:58.008
Or
00:08:58.008 --> 00:08:59.538
I was a wolf and horse child.
00:09:00.150 --> 00:09:01.030
A wolf and horse child?
00:09:01.030 --> 00:09:01.490
Okay,
00:09:01.610 --> 00:09:07.931
Like you've ever run into like a horse child, who's like, so into horses that they'll like pretend to run like a horse and stuff, that was me.
00:09:08.384 --> 00:09:11.004
I've met a child that's so into horses he dresses up on them.
00:09:11.004 --> 00:09:12.355
So, it's just kind of refreshing.
00:09:12.355 --> 00:09:14.667
ha ha ha ha
00:09:15.251 --> 00:09:18.961
I think that was partially what drew me to Pokemon in the first place.
00:09:19.346 --> 00:09:29.549
growing up, I always had more of a sense of empathy with real life animals and also cartoon animals, more of a sense of empathy with critters than any humans whatsoever.
00:09:30.070 --> 00:09:30.490
Uh,
00:09:30.544 --> 00:09:31.235
feel that, yeah.
00:09:31.235 --> 00:09:33.345
Pokemon
00:09:33.419 --> 00:09:40.110
Pokemon and especially, seeing how Lugia was depicted in the movie 2000, just like, yep, I fricking love Pokemon.
00:09:41.475 --> 00:09:45.434
2000 just solidified your kind of interest in the franchise at that point.
00:09:45.519 --> 00:09:46.250
Absolutely.
00:09:46.721 --> 00:09:47.760
when it comes to Pokemon Y.
00:09:47.760 --> 00:09:48.390
What do you remember?
00:09:48.390 --> 00:09:50.350
Like, do you remember like this plot?
00:09:50.370 --> 00:09:52.730
Like, what do you, what did you enjoy about playing that game?
00:09:53.466 --> 00:10:04.806
hmm I recently replayed it and was hit sort of differently still good But what I remember being hit the by the most uh at the time Was the the beautiful world song at the end
00:10:05.600 --> 00:10:06.410
Oh my gosh.
00:10:06.535 --> 00:10:19.504
how it goes on with the multi language lyrics floating up on the screen and just the fantastic music and immaculate aesthetic at some points and then I the the beautiful world song was where it really killed me with pokemon y I love that so much
00:10:20.080 --> 00:10:20.309
I know.
00:10:20.309 --> 00:10:21.590
I was just listening to it early today.
00:10:21.590 --> 00:10:23.009
Actually small world.
00:10:24.100 --> 00:10:27.379
It's kind of, like, Kiseki is a bit repetitive, but it's really hard to beat.
00:10:28.085 --> 00:10:37.616
It is it's like one of them songs that it repeats over and over But it's so good that you really don't mind it if that makes sense Did you get into the anime?
00:10:38.067 --> 00:10:40.422
I never really got into the anime.
00:10:40.422 --> 00:11:03.139
I wasn't really a TV watcher, and I, you know, it would have been kind of difficult up until I was an adult for me to even access the Pokemon but I did continue picking the games I remember I Think I had dropped out of school At that point I got in the car with my grandmother Went to go pick up sun and moon booted up moon in the car and the title screen music made me cry in like the passenger seat of our honda element
00:11:05.370 --> 00:11:07.370
what was it just the tune of it or just
00:11:07.669 --> 00:11:14.529
I don't know something about just the epic swell of it and the chorus of voices singing Something about that tune just like immediately made me cry
00:11:15.129 --> 00:11:24.240
Was gonna say on top of you know being kind of an emotional shift from you dropping out of high school that's kind of a I don't know if it's a high or a low, it's kind of a unique rollercoaster
00:11:24.309 --> 00:11:35.559
Yeah, I was just, I was just, I was very strained, and I was getting by, and a new Pokemon game was out, and I was, it was truly a sense of like, oh, I'm, I'm cracking open something that's full of unknown brand new wonders.
00:11:36.580 --> 00:11:39.889
This is like a new, a start over, it sounds like almost.
00:11:40.409 --> 00:11:46.923
Could be! I don't remember that much about the Ultra games, other than like, oh, that was cool, they messed up the story, but the gameplay is fun.
00:11:47.212 --> 00:11:53.394
I got to play Sword and Shield for the first time when I first met, the person I would move in with and end up dating.
00:11:54.668 --> 00:11:56.038
Aw, that's, that's awesome.
00:11:56.149 --> 00:11:58.609
remember it was when we were first getting to know each other.
00:11:58.938 --> 00:12:05.119
They came from a couple states away to visit, and we were both grinding out trying to shiny hunt a shiny Nickit for them.
00:12:05.469 --> 00:12:07.208
So y'all both met through, Pokemon?
00:12:07.208 --> 00:12:07.224
Bye.
00:12:07.399 --> 00:12:12.028
Yeah, we had spoken through the Pokemon chat that we had both been in for years at that
00:12:12.272 --> 00:12:14.796
mean.
00:12:14.796 --> 00:12:22.368
Yeah, I know.
00:12:22.408 --> 00:12:24.948
both of us were not fond of the raids in Sword and Shield.
00:12:25.028 --> 00:12:26.058
They were very slow.
00:12:27.417 --> 00:12:32.465
regular ones.
00:12:32.739 --> 00:12:34.389
very slow in Sword and Shield.
00:12:34.761 --> 00:12:37.942
I remember sometimes I would literally be falling asleep trying to finish a raid.
00:12:41.611 --> 00:12:42.081
Yeah.
00:12:42.851 --> 00:12:46.251
Do you prefer them now in Scarlet and Violet?
00:12:46.548 --> 00:12:46.998
Yes.
00:12:47.307 --> 00:12:52.548
As glitchy as they can be, because Scarlet and Violet, the raids feel great in this game.
00:12:52.993 --> 00:13:08.940
it's been night and day because I tried going back to play Pokemon Sword because I started with Shield And it just felt so weird, it felt like in spite of the criticisms Scarlet and Violet have received I actually enjoy the way it, like, feels playing that game Compared to Sword and Shield for some reason
00:13:09.615 --> 00:13:10.904
Yeah, that's understandable.
00:13:10.904 --> 00:13:19.754
I think, Sword and Shield has more of a tight aesthetic sort of thing going on, but really needed improvement in gameplay and the plot being only half done.
00:13:20.125 --> 00:13:22.475
Yeah, I don't know, I didn't like the plot too much to be honest.
00:13:22.475 --> 00:13:23.966
It just, that's what turned me off to it.
00:13:23.966 --> 00:13:26.576
It's not bad, it just wasn't the best.
00:13:27.046 --> 00:13:35.355
I could see what it was going for something, something sort of like capitalism and exploiting things and sort of adulthood and responsibility.
00:13:35.716 --> 00:13:38.546
It was going for something cool, but they didn't finish it for some reason.
00:13:39.143 --> 00:13:42.033
especially like, I didn't like the term the mayor made.
00:13:42.123 --> 00:13:43.952
Because I actually felt like he should have been a good guy.
00:13:44.003 --> 00:13:47.013
I didn't really understand he had to be the antagonist.
00:13:47.173 --> 00:13:58.812
I yeah, I the moment when I officially couldn't with Sword and Shield's story anymore when it was, when it was like, you're in a tunnel, there's a Pokemon rampaging outside, you don't get to see it or deal with it, go away, you're just a kid.
00:13:59.253 --> 00:14:04.113
We didn't even animate any of this for the player to look at, it's just a thing that's happening in text.
00:14:04.413 --> 00:14:07.613
just like, okay, what the hell is going on with the plot?
00:14:08.217 --> 00:14:10.847
you know, what about the story for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
00:14:10.857 --> 00:14:11.868
Did you enjoy that more?
00:14:12.370 --> 00:14:14.918
So, Scarlet and Violet did something to my brain.
00:14:15.995 --> 00:14:19.615
I, you know, never really attached to human characters.
00:14:19.654 --> 00:14:21.105
I don't know what it was about it.
00:14:21.164 --> 00:14:22.955
It's just been a quirk of mine.
00:14:22.965 --> 00:14:24.995
Until Scarlet and Violet.
00:14:25.440 --> 00:14:28.563
Something about, just all of the plot lines going on there.
00:14:28.902 --> 00:14:34.282
something about those particular characters, just explosion of thinking about these characters and liking these characters.
00:14:34.759 --> 00:14:39.490
I think character writing did change significantly, between Sword and Shield and Scarveye.
00:14:40.095 --> 00:14:43.634
Which part of Scarlet and Violet did you kind of identify with or kind of, related to?
00:14:44.216 --> 00:14:52.924
I mean, all of the plot lines are emotionally compelling to me, and I think there's a lot of things where the characters are doing a thing, but you can detect sort of a, an undercurrent to it.
00:14:53.315 --> 00:14:56.519
Like, the whole Nimona wants you to complete the, Pokemon League thing.
00:14:56.519 --> 00:14:58.960
It's just like, oh yeah, I am your rival now, I am adopting you.
00:14:59.269 --> 00:15:06.538
But there is enough dialogue to suggest that Nimona is kind of a weird eccentric person and is lonely because no one likes being around her.
00:15:06.856 --> 00:15:13.606
There's a lot of relatively subtle for Pokemon stuff like that going on with almost all of the characters and that's something I really liked.
00:15:14.456 --> 00:15:18.746
yeah, cause really all three characters, they could honestly be outcast in a way.
00:15:18.996 --> 00:15:26.740
Cause you said Nimona, she's very hyper competitive, you know, you got, Penny where she was, trying to defeat the forces she created with, Team Star.
00:15:27.049 --> 00:15:31.961
And then the tragic story of, Arven basically both his parents not giving a crap for the guy.
00:15:32.201 --> 00:15:36.221
They both kind of had their own like outcast story in a way, and then separated from the school.
00:15:36.400 --> 00:15:39.701
So it's kind of relatable for some people who've maybe been down that road, you know?
00:15:40.240 --> 00:15:40.360
Yeah, for
00:15:40.505 --> 00:15:41.466
Yeah, for sure.
00:15:41.466 --> 00:15:46.062
There's a lot of sort of hidden sadness in Scaravai and something about that just woke my brain up.
00:15:46.397 --> 00:15:49.846
I was curious, you know, since we're still on Pokemon, do you have a favorite Pokemon at all?
00:15:50.298 --> 00:15:51.048
Zoroark.
00:15:51.048 --> 00:15:52.619
It has to be Zoroark.
00:15:52.629 --> 00:15:57.855
There are a lot of Pokemon that I would exalt as being amazing Pokemon, but it really has to be Zoroark.
00:15:58.530 --> 00:15:59.461
Ooh, how come that one.
00:15:59.916 --> 00:16:05.275
The way it was animated and depicted in Master of Illusions really got to me.
00:16:05.275 --> 00:16:10.946
It is, it is elegant, it is cool, like it stores its babies in its mane and it just sort of tucks them in there.
00:16:11.249 --> 00:16:15.423
The artwork is lovable and badass and elegant and I just love it overall.
00:16:16.048 --> 00:16:18.208
I'm not gonna lie, I was actually expecting a dragon type Pokemon.
00:16:18.208 --> 00:16:20.621
I'm really, I'm really pleasantly surprised, if
00:16:21.208 --> 00:16:27.979
Well, I've accidentally started a tradition for I don't know how long at this point of drawing at least one mega Rayquaza every year.
00:16:28.417 --> 00:16:29.897
out of accident or on purpose?
00:16:30.001 --> 00:16:31.692
It kind of happened on accident.
00:16:32.153 --> 00:16:33.323
what led to the first one?
00:16:33.548 --> 00:16:39.229
probably just looking at its design and its majestic tassels and trying to do my best to do justice by that.
00:16:39.229 --> 00:16:40.908
And I still think I haven't succeeded
00:16:41.349 --> 00:16:43.938
I mean, I think that's always the struggle of every artist, right?
00:16:43.938 --> 00:16:47.229
You never feel like it's done well enough because, you know, we're the strongest critique,
00:16:47.532 --> 00:16:48.162
for sure.
00:16:48.611 --> 00:16:51.871
I know for me, you know, when I do a podcast, I'll edit it for like hours upon hours.
00:16:51.871 --> 00:16:55.032
And I still, even after finishing, I'm like, there's still problems with it.
00:16:55.032 --> 00:16:58.381
And no matter how much, you know, you edit it, eventually you just have to release it at some point.
00:16:58.381 --> 00:17:02.556
Or in this case, when you draw it, you got to just eventually what you've done is the best you could
00:17:02.905 --> 00:17:03.836
Yeah, absolutely.
00:17:03.836 --> 00:17:05.895
It's just like, well, until the next time I try this.
00:17:53.730 --> 00:17:59.580
Since we're on the topic with art, you know, this is a podcast where, you know, your art and, you know, your world of Pokemon kind of collide.
00:17:59.980 --> 00:18:05.891
I did some research on your artwork and I kind of want to touch on some of the artwork you've done and the inspiration behind it.
00:18:05.891 --> 00:18:07.550
You know, what led to you drawing it?
00:18:07.858 --> 00:18:20.229
so I'm only gonna go through a handful I mean I could be here all day if we try to go through all of them first one of course, the one is of course the Lugia one, which is seems like it was inspired from Pokemon the movie 2000 It's called the song has given me strength.
00:18:20.259 --> 00:18:22.138
Is that basically kind of where it was inspired from?
00:18:22.659 --> 00:18:25.709
Yes, okay, now that, I was gonna say, which Logia one?
00:18:25.929 --> 00:19:02.851
But yes, that was, I got an image in my head for trying to do something with sort of the grey and the clouds and doing a little bit of a rainbow y effect on it, uh, and wanted to see if I could pull that off, I got an idea in my head for a drawing I wanted to try and do that would really have to be done digitally of Just sort of the way that image is composed with the gray Sort of the gray thing overall with a little bit of a rainbow effect that and trying to reflect the feeling of lugia's song and how its function is in the movie of just being you know, Beaten down, battled down, and rising because of this music.
00:19:03.131 --> 00:19:08.750
sort of a heartful feeling that I was trying to depict, and also testing what I could do in terms of what I could draw.
