TRAINER'S EYE #17 -

In this Pokemon interview, we are joined by my JohnnyCake96, co-host of Let's Go! A Pokemon Podcast, a fellow Texan, and Pokemon GO enthusiast. He shares his experience playing the game in Granbury, Texas, and how he started a podcast with his friend DominusOmega.

JohnnyCake96 talks about his love for the game and how it has helped him improve his friendship with DominusOmega. He also shares some of his favorite Pokemon to catch.

We also apologize to our fellow Texans for not indulging in a Whataburger before recording, but we hope you still enjoy this episode of our podcast.

Trainer's Eye is a series where the stories are real and people still play this game. From PVP to Shiny Hunting, each person's Pokemon GO journey is unique and we dive into each journey here on As The Pokeball Turns!

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.569
My name is David Hernandez and you're listening to As the Pokeball Turns.

00:00:45.009 --> 00:00:47.829
Welcome to an episode of As the Pokemon Ball Turns.

00:00:48.134 --> 00:00:51.134
Today is episode 17 of Trainer's Eyes.

00:00:51.436 --> 00:00:58.396
A segment where get to hear from you, the community, on how your PokemonGo journey started, where it has been and where it is currently going.

00:00:58.697 --> 00:01:02.837
In Texas, there is a small city on the outskirts of Fort Worth, known as Granbury.

00:01:03.137 --> 00:01:11.527
It is home to about 11,000 people and is known as the city"where Texas history lives." It was named after Brigadier General Hiram B.

00:01:11.527 --> 00:01:15.677
Granberry, Commander of the seventh Texas Infantry and Granbury's Brigade.

00:01:15.975 --> 00:01:24.885
It is believed that the general and the town's spelling difference was due to someone misreading a document showing that typos even existed back in those days.

00:01:25.188 --> 00:01:34.164
The city is filled with old historic buildings dating back to the 1800s and Historic Town Square was the first in Texas to earn a spot on the National Historic Register.

00:01:34.466 --> 00:01:40.766
It is believed that Cranberry was even one of the places John Wilkes Booth fled toward and hid under a different alias.

00:01:41.066 --> 00:01:48.025
On top of all that, the city is home to Let's go A Pokemon podcast, which debuted on January 8th, 2021.

00:01:48.325 --> 00:01:53.102
Here is the origin story into how the podcast first started and the world of Pokemon Go.

00:01:53.402 --> 00:02:01.397
This is JohnnyCake96! Today I'm joined by one half of the Let's Go Podcast Jay.

00:02:01.697 --> 00:02:05.356
Jay, before we do get started, we missed it when we recorded your show.

00:02:05.658 --> 00:02:07.727
Did you remember to eat your Whataburger by chance?

00:02:08.328 --> 00:02:14.538
Yes, I did forget I, I was off today.

00:02:14.657 --> 00:02:19.918
I, I had the whole day to go and go, gimme some Whataburger but the thing is, WhataBurger is on the outside of town.

00:02:19.918 --> 00:02:25.337
It's like I want to go, but I know the people here in Grandberry, they're not like the greatest drivers.

00:02:25.638 --> 00:02:29.633
Yesterday, there was an accident on the bridge that goes, onto his side, where he lives.

00:02:29.933 --> 00:02:37.783
And I was like,"ah, man, this is gonna be great," And then I was heading to town earlier today to take care of renewals on my truck and there was another accident on the way over there.

00:02:38.080 --> 00:02:38.971
I'm like, I'm like, damn.

00:02:38.971 --> 00:02:40.770
it's like, do you guys not look or what's up

00:02:41.610 --> 00:02:42.061
Oh my gosh.

00:02:42.066 --> 00:02:44.010
The worst part is Grandberry is not a big town.

00:02:44.010 --> 00:02:45.540
It's actually a very small city, right?

00:02:45.843 --> 00:02:46.114
Yeah.

00:02:46.114 --> 00:02:46.829
it's very small.

00:02:47.133 --> 00:02:55.209
Next time we'll get the Whataburger the third time around, but before we do get into that, I gotta ask you the first question I ask every one of my guests, when did you first start playing Pokemon go?

00:02:55.805 --> 00:02:58.085
When I first started playing, I played day one.

00:02:58.085 --> 00:03:04.865
I was there! I was there with all the server crashes, game crashes, getting kicked out of the game, et cetera, et cetera.

00:03:04.865 --> 00:03:06.455
I was there day one, baby.

00:03:07.058 --> 00:03:09.669
Were you playing in Granbury at the time or were you playing a different city?

00:03:10.028 --> 00:03:10.899
Uh, in Grandbury.

00:03:11.194 --> 00:03:14.944
It was so crazy, especially in a town like that's relatively small.

00:03:15.245 --> 00:03:27.490
Brandon messaged me like, Hey, lets meet up with me and, the guys at the square, it's popping! I was like,"Hey, no way!" And I pull up and everybody and their moms are out there and it was like huge crowds walking around the streets and, everything.

00:03:28.092 --> 00:03:30.832
What did it feel like being around so many people playing Pokemon GO?

00:03:31.430 --> 00:03:42.985
It felt so surreal because, you know, I didn't think, this many people will be out and about, outside of, like 4th of July weekend or any other event that the town will hold, at the square, so it was very surreal.

00:03:43.284 --> 00:03:50.555
I'm sure everybody has said this before, but it was like really magical like you see everybody from different age ranges, coming out to play this game.

00:03:50.852 --> 00:03:56.942
I will have to say it is definitely something that I don't think can be, replicated for a long time.

00:03:57.246 --> 00:04:00.336
We probably won't ever see something like that ever again within our lifetimes.

00:04:00.639 --> 00:04:03.938
Before Pokemon Go, did you have any familiarity with Pokemon in general?

00:04:04.538 --> 00:04:14.674
Yeah, I've actually been playing Pokemon since gen one and it's really hard to say what was like my first game out of all three that came out for the States.

00:04:14.977 --> 00:04:30.355
I would definitely wanna say it was more than likely Pokemon Yellow that was my first one, and then eventually I lost that and then I got Red and then got Blue and I ended up losing those two and then a few years ago I ended up getting my hands on a couple of copies of, Pokemon Red and then Pokemon Blue.

00:04:30.658 --> 00:04:36.658
I'm still hunting down to get Pokemon yellow, and then I eventually do wanna get another copy of Gold, Silver and then Crystal.

00:04:37.262 --> 00:04:39.122
what was your starter that you picked of the four

00:04:39.725 --> 00:04:45.937
For gen one, it was, really hard, to say I do wanna say it was either a Squirtle or Charmander.

00:04:45.958 --> 00:04:56.543
I think I'm leaning more towards Squirtle because I know when FireRed came out, I went with Charmander and I was like, well, I can't beat Brock with the Charmander, but then I had another hurdle with Misty with water.

00:04:56.848 --> 00:04:59.908
So I had to go back around and try to get me a grass type.

00:05:00.206 --> 00:05:02.505
So that was a ho ordeal in itself.

00:05:03.108 --> 00:05:06.117
Now with all your experience with Pokemon in general and the franchise.

00:05:06.418 --> 00:05:08.278
Do you have a particular favorite Pokemon?

00:05:08.875 --> 00:05:16.475
Most of them are gonna be gen three and Gen four, like my overall favorite Pokemon is definitely Mudkip and, it's Evolution line.

00:05:16.778 --> 00:05:30.644
Every Pokemon game that comes out, I always choose the water starter and the only exception that I did not, was definitely, Pokemon Gold cuz I remember, watching, Pokemon three, the movie and Ash had a Cyndaquil and the Cyndaquil always came in clutch, during certain parts of the movie.

00:05:30.644 --> 00:05:43.848
I mean, don't get me wrong, so did, Chikorita and Totodile, but Cyndaquil really stuck out to me the most, out of all three of the Johto Starters and I say,"yo, I have to get Cyndaquil." That's the only, that's the only game where I didn't choose a water starter.

00:05:44.447 --> 00:05:45.857
So I'm gonna put you on the spot real quick.

00:05:46.160 --> 00:05:48.589
If you were a Water Gym leader, who would be your team?

00:05:49.579 --> 00:05:50.480
Ooh, okay.

00:05:50.629 --> 00:05:52.519
Uh, definitely Swampert.

00:05:52.824 --> 00:05:54.415
Yeah, that definitely my ace.

00:05:54.718 --> 00:05:56.639
um, damn.

00:05:56.942 --> 00:05:57.721
Milotic.

00:05:58.024 --> 00:05:59.449
Let's see who else?

00:05:59.449 --> 00:06:00.858
Empoleon for sure.

00:06:01.161 --> 00:06:05.302
Um Gyarados, yeah, Gyarados.

00:06:05.598 --> 00:06:07.369
Let's see, what other water type would I want?

00:06:07.668 --> 00:06:09.399
definitely, uh, Tentacruel.

00:06:09.701 --> 00:06:13.197
And for the last water type, it would definitely be.

00:06:13.788 --> 00:06:16.459
Oh man, hold on, I'm trying to scroll through all these water types.

00:06:17.988 --> 00:06:18.738
There's a lot of'em.

00:06:19.009 --> 00:06:20.449
Oh yeah, there's, there's plenty.

00:06:20.752 --> 00:06:22.081
Uh, Vaporeon,

00:06:22.685 --> 00:06:24.204
Not a bad six, that's for sure.

00:06:24.504 --> 00:06:28.634
Now let's keep moving forward, you said earlier you live in a very small town, Granbury, Texas.

00:06:28.932 --> 00:06:31.151
It's has only about 10,000 people.

00:06:31.449 --> 00:06:32.649
What is it like playing there?

00:06:33.252 --> 00:06:33.791
Playing there?

00:06:33.791 --> 00:06:42.442
It's really hard to explain it really, because for the most part, people really don't bat an eye at you if you're playing and then they're like people still play that game and you know, all this other stuff.

00:06:42.745 --> 00:06:46.314
I mean, we do have like I would like to call it an active community.

00:06:46.913 --> 00:06:50.463
Do people get together to do raids or PVP tournaments or anything like that?

00:06:51.060 --> 00:06:54.019
PVP is not really that much of a thing over here, just mainly raids.

00:06:54.317 --> 00:07:00.523
Whenever they introduced the, raid hours, we would have a good amount of people that were out for raid and the RAID lobby, capping off at 20.

00:07:00.523 --> 00:07:07.963
we had to split up into groups and we had to coordinate with each other and then for a while it did work out and then there was like, one person I forgot.

00:07:07.963 --> 00:07:10.632
I haven't seen him in forever and I haven't seen him play either.

00:07:10.937 --> 00:07:19.127
It's like I'll try to coordinate with these other people and then he will try to, you know, Not really overthrow, I guess, he would try to take the leader position.

00:07:19.437 --> 00:07:23.541
But even though it wasn't really like a thing, he would always try to you know try to do it this way.

00:07:23.541 --> 00:07:26.572
And it was like, but it'd be better if we do it this way and then all this other stuff.

00:07:26.869 --> 00:07:31.329
It cost a bit of an upster, but for the most part, there still are groups that, do rain.

00:07:31.329 --> 00:07:43.228
It is just, really hard to try to do that with legendary coming back in and then if it's like a legendary that's we already had, not a lot of people get really motivated to go back out to do the raids and, and then they'll say,"oh, I'll take an invite here and there."

00:07:43.831 --> 00:07:45.721
How many people show up for like community day?

00:07:46.322 --> 00:07:47.641
There are people that do show up.

00:07:47.939 --> 00:07:57.113
I don't know how the community day scene has, been like with, the, like the last couple, because the last few community days, Brandon has been working on the days that have the community day.

00:07:57.416 --> 00:07:59.576
So usually I don't really go out, by myself.

00:07:59.581 --> 00:08:00.927
I was like, yeah, I'll just camp at home.

00:08:01.230 --> 00:08:11.928
I can, do pretty decent at home, but yeah, I know like, Pokemon Go, I can go out there and just play by myself, but, you know, it's just, I'm just so used to going with Brandon and then we'll do like a community day vlog for the podcast and all that good jazz.

00:08:12.225 --> 00:08:14.786
For the most part, I just don't really like walking out by myself.

00:08:15.386 --> 00:08:18.146
What about going by yourself stops you from participating?

00:08:18.749 --> 00:08:24.711
Yeah, I just, won't have anybody like there, like with me and Brandon, whenever we hang out, we don't really say much.

00:08:25.012 --> 00:08:25.762
We're just there.

00:08:26.059 --> 00:08:30.819
there'll be small talk here and there and I think it's just, mainly like I won't have any small talks.

00:08:31.122 --> 00:08:41.668
There are people that have their own little group, for like community day, but it's like really hard to reach out to them on Discord cuz they're so, focused on trying to get their shinies, trying to get a Hundo, or a Shundo, all that good stuff.

00:08:42.269 --> 00:08:44.249
It sounds like you and Brandon are pretty tight as friends.

00:08:44.548 --> 00:08:45.479
Yeah, I'd like to think so too.

00:08:46.312 --> 00:08:48.856
So do you ever get a chance to visit Dallas or Fort Worth at all?

00:08:49.461 --> 00:08:52.850
I know me and Brandon have been up to Fort Worth for community days.

00:08:53.153 --> 00:08:57.466
I wanna say the last thing that we did it was September, 2019, Turtwig Community Day.

00:08:57.813 --> 00:09:04.859
Brandon, said,"Hey, let's do this thing" and it is called the Raid Bus, but not only do they do like, raid hour for that, they also do community days.

00:09:05.162 --> 00:09:06.841
And I said, yeah, sure, I'm down for that.

00:09:07.142 --> 00:09:10.125
And it would just drive around like Fort Worths for like community day.

00:09:10.422 --> 00:09:20.552
It was a good time because it was like on a charter bus, you know, we talked to people on there and with it being a charter bus, there was, outlets on the bus so I could just plug in and keep my phone charging.

00:09:20.855 --> 00:09:22.596
It was all Gucci from there.

00:09:23.196 --> 00:09:27.125
What was it like when you first saw how many Pokestops Fort Worth had compared to like your town?

00:09:27.725 --> 00:09:28.985
It was definitely eye-opening.

00:09:28.985 --> 00:09:31.385
I was like, I'm about to get a lot of gifts from here and there.

00:09:31.385 --> 00:09:35.405
And of course this was before the postcard feature that's currently in the game.

00:09:35.708 --> 00:09:41.619
And if they had that feature at the time in 2019, my postcard book would be stacked with Fort Worth stops.

00:09:43.899 --> 00:09:45.224
It's never too late to go back.

00:09:45.520 --> 00:09:45.841
Yeah.

00:09:45.841 --> 00:09:46.801
you're not wrong about that.

00:09:47.403 --> 00:09:50.344
Well speaking with Brandon since we've talked about him, how did y'all first meet?

00:09:50.941 --> 00:09:57.750
Okay, I'm gonna be real with you, I have no idea, but he swears it was, he, he swears it was, uh, sophomore year.

00:09:58.313 --> 00:10:01.224
because he said we had our French class together in sophomore year.

00:10:01.224 --> 00:10:08.181
I was like, I was like, dog, I don't remember anything from that class aside from being a try hard on clashing clans, trying to level up my village and all this stuff.

00:10:08.484 --> 00:10:13.389
The best way I could summarize sophomore year was eat, sleep, go to school, band, grind on.

00:10:13.389 --> 00:10:18.339
Clash clans and listen to music and then I'll pay mildly attention here, there, and everywhere.

00:10:18.639 --> 00:10:21.578
But for the most part, that was just like my life at that at the time.

00:10:21.884 --> 00:10:23.344
He says that that's where we met.

00:10:23.344 --> 00:10:24.104
It's like,"okay, man.

00:10:24.104 --> 00:10:25.178
I'll leave you to it."

00:10:25.778 --> 00:10:27.849
sophomore year is a pretty long time at this point, right?

00:10:28.446 --> 00:10:29.946
Uh, yeah, it's, let's see.

00:10:30.241 --> 00:10:31.562
He just texted me.

00:10:31.591 --> 00:10:32.282
He just texted me.

00:10:32.282 --> 00:10:33.302
I'm looking at my watch right now.

00:10:33.331 --> 00:10:34.831
He said we have French too.

00:10:34.831 --> 00:10:38.491
Sophomore year, maybe mayor freshman, but definitely by sophomore year.

00:10:39.451 --> 00:10:43.741
Oh, Brandon Yeah, he's listening.

00:10:44.039 --> 00:10:50.177
But the way we've been able to like really keep contact really is you know, we still live in town and he just lives across town from me.

00:10:50.782 --> 00:10:52.851
So what made y'all wanna start a podcast?

00:10:53.455 --> 00:10:55.914
When Brandon told me he wanna do a Pokemon podcast.

00:10:55.914 --> 00:10:57.595
I'm like,"yo, I'm down." You know?

00:10:57.894 --> 00:11:02.840
I don't have much going on right now and when we first started, originally there were three of us.

00:11:03.140 --> 00:11:06.770
It was me, him, and our friend Tyler.

00:11:07.071 --> 00:11:10.475
And then, Tyler, he got busy, with work and, with life and whatnot.

00:11:10.773 --> 00:11:12.768
He slowly transitioned out of the show.

00:11:13.067 --> 00:11:19.413
I said, and for the record, you know, the door is always there for Tyler if he wants to come back, or if he wants to make like a special guest appearance here and there.

00:11:19.708 --> 00:11:23.359
But yeah, it was three of us at the beginning, but now it's just the two of us.

00:11:23.964 --> 00:11:25.374
Do you enjoy doing the podcast?

00:11:25.971 --> 00:11:27.081
Yeah, I do enjoy it.

00:11:27.384 --> 00:11:34.323
If you guys go back and listen to our earlier episodes Yeah, you can hear how quiet and awkward I am compared to, now I'm just, I'm just now awkward on there.

00:11:35.614 --> 00:11:37.024
But uh, you don't have to start somewhere, right?

00:11:37.024 --> 00:11:38.533
Yeah, of course.

00:11:38.831 --> 00:11:46.947
At first when Brandon brought this up to me, I had to sit, there and think like, Hmm, do a Pokemon podcast, yes or no." I sat there.

00:11:46.947 --> 00:11:55.990
I was like,"well, what do I have really going on for myself?" I don't have anything going on, so I, could give this a try and see where this goes and, here we are, maybe getting...

00:11:55.995 --> 00:11:57.149
You're closing on two years.

00:11:57.149 --> 00:11:57.339
Yeah.

00:11:57.339 --> 00:11:58.979
Two, a little over two years later.

00:11:58.979 --> 00:12:04.259
And, we're still being, consistent with the episodes and we're trying to do like, vlogs, card openings, and All that good stuff.

00:12:04.259 --> 00:12:08.428
And then, for the most part, Brandon does take care of more of the social media, aspect of the podcast.

00:12:08.725 --> 00:12:11.515
I, at one point I did, I was helping him out.

00:12:11.818 --> 00:12:15.833
But you know, with work getting a little crazy and then I have to not be on my phone as much.

00:12:15.833 --> 00:12:20.354
I just slowly, slipped out of, trying to, post on the social, on, Instagram mainly.

00:12:20.658 --> 00:12:23.778
I don't really post anything cuz Brandon mostly has all the footage.

00:12:24.378 --> 00:12:25.577
Now you take the footage right?

00:12:25.874 --> 00:12:27.494
I've seen the stuff on Instagram before.

00:12:28.097 --> 00:12:29.087
yeah, for the most part.

00:12:29.087 --> 00:12:32.908
I, actually, no, the, ones on Instagram, Brandon, he has, um, what's it called?

00:12:33.211 --> 00:12:34.140
it's a gimbal.

00:12:34.140 --> 00:12:37.350
He has a gimbal for when he does like card openings and whatnot.

00:12:37.648 --> 00:12:40.798
But if we're walking around outside, for the most part, I am holding the camera.

00:12:41.400 --> 00:12:41.640
Right?

00:12:41.640 --> 00:12:47.727
Like y'all recently doing the stories and he's in like some smoke effect and I'm assuming you're the one holding the camera.

00:12:48.327 --> 00:12:51.107
Yeah, yeah, I was, yeah, I was holding the camera and the building that we were at.

00:12:51.107 --> 00:12:55.607
I'm sure you heard, but that was the old jail that Grandberry had like years and years ago.

00:12:55.910 --> 00:13:01.130
they do tours there and I went there once and, was creeped out cuz they said it was haunted, I was like, oh hell no.

00:13:01.130 --> 00:13:02.461
I'm getting outta here guys."

00:13:04.650 --> 00:13:06.115
What was the tour like?

00:13:06.115 --> 00:13:08.186
Did they just show the inside the jail or?

00:13:08.785 --> 00:13:12.985
Yeah, but the thing was that it was a school field trip to the old county jail.

00:13:12.985 --> 00:13:15.296
And I think I was in second grade when this happened.

00:13:15.599 --> 00:13:19.979
So of course, being, a small child and I was definitely afraid of, those, things that crawl at night.

00:13:19.979 --> 00:13:20.818
And I was like, oh, no.

00:13:21.120 --> 00:13:23.879
I think they put a mannequin in one of the cells just to mess with people.

00:13:24.177 --> 00:13:26.697
And I saw the mannequin, I swear it moved its head.

00:13:26.697 --> 00:13:28.857
I was like, oh no, guys, I'm, I'm getting outta here!

00:13:28.857 --> 00:13:29.278
Oh my gosh!

00:13:29.298 --> 00:13:30.427
I just push everybody out.

00:13:31.321 --> 00:13:31.770
Wow.

00:13:32.071 --> 00:13:34.201
Well now you won't have any problems staying over there, right?

00:13:34.201 --> 00:13:35.311
Uh, 50 50

00:13:36.010 --> 00:13:38.821
A man of honesty, I like it

00:13:39.118 --> 00:13:40.357
Yeah, 50 50.

00:13:40.658 --> 00:13:43.177
If I could bring my Enemy Body Pillow, I think I'll be good.

00:13:43.238 --> 00:13:43.778
Well, very cool.

00:13:43.778 --> 00:13:46.957
So I need to take you back to when y'all first recorded your first episode.

00:13:47.259 --> 00:13:49.990
What was it like to record your very first episode of Let's Go

00:13:50.590 --> 00:14:00.250
I was really nervous because, aside from, posting my face on my own, personal, social media, we were casting ourselves way out into the internet and with people doxing and swatting.

00:14:00.490 --> 00:14:03.230
I was like, I was kind of nervous about that, but I was like, nah, I'm tripping too much.

00:14:03.523 --> 00:14:07.842
I was like, we're gonna be on under the radar for a while and then eventually we're going to climb up there.

00:14:08.143 --> 00:14:11.082
And then I keep telling myself like, I'll worry about it when it happens.

00:14:11.379 --> 00:14:14.380
I do remember that day really well cuz it was really cold.

00:14:14.684 --> 00:14:17.945
I think we started January or February of 2020.

00:14:18.240 --> 00:14:19.650
I don't remember exactly when.

00:14:19.960 --> 00:14:24.967
I just know it was really cold and I had gone off from work and I went home, showered, got ready.

00:14:25.270 --> 00:14:29.951
This was like before, you know where me and Brandon have like a whole routine of what we did before the podcast.

00:14:30.254 --> 00:14:33.674
I just went to Chick-fil-A and grabbed me some nuggets and I, hauled ass over here.

00:14:33.975 --> 00:14:43.655
I ate my nuggets while Brandon was setting up everything and the original setup was in Brandon's kitchen slash living room and then we slowly transitioned over into the spare bedroom that he has over here.

00:14:44.260 --> 00:14:50.480
So how did you overcome your fear of people potentially coming after you for putting yourself out there with this podcast?

00:14:51.081 --> 00:14:55.395
I had to slowly, you know, get over it because there's only so much that I can do to prevent it.

00:14:55.698 --> 00:14:59.089
When push comes to shove, you know, something's eventually gonna give.

00:14:59.386 --> 00:15:02.917
Like I had mentioned earlier, I can deal with it whenever it happens.

00:15:03.212 --> 00:15:08.383
That's been my mentality for a while, like whenever X happens, I'll deal with it whenever it happens.

00:15:08.980 --> 00:15:11.049
But for now, you just keep having fun with the podcast, right?

00:15:11.049 --> 00:15:11.529
Yeah, yeah.

00:15:11.529 --> 00:15:12.190
For the most part.

00:15:13.320 --> 00:15:16.320
So what drives you to continue to make the content for the podcast?

00:15:16.919 --> 00:15:20.490
I have this thing where it is like, I'm like extremely anal about this.

00:15:20.789 --> 00:15:24.226
I have like this thing, like I have to keep it consistent, like a streak.

00:15:24.226 --> 00:15:25.486
I had to keep this going.

00:15:25.783 --> 00:15:30.312
If I mess up on a streak, I just don't deal with it for a while and then, then I start back up.

00:15:30.616 --> 00:15:34.797
And the only time that we didn't do a show, was when Brandon got sick.

00:15:35.092 --> 00:15:41.158
and of course, we couldn't record because, he didn't have the energy to do that, but that was like an exception because that was something that was out of my control.

00:15:41.758 --> 00:15:41.937
Right.

00:15:41.937 --> 00:15:47.668
But it sounds like as long as you have the choice to do the podcast, you're gonna do it because you wanna stay consistent.

00:15:47.668 --> 00:15:48.158
Yeah.

00:15:48.754 --> 00:15:50.404
Well, I have one last question.

00:15:50.708 --> 00:15:55.589
So with everything you've talked about today, what do you consider your biggest accomplishment when it comes to Pokemon go?

00:15:56.193 --> 00:16:08.561
My biggest accomplishment, on this game was like a whole variations of things, but I think my, biggest achievement, but also like the biggest L I've taken is hitting level 40 right before the level increase.

00:16:08.864 --> 00:16:09.844
Are you serious?

00:16:09.844 --> 00:16:10.144
Yeah.

00:16:10.144 --> 00:16:11.134
I hit level 40.

00:16:11.134 --> 00:16:12.994
I was like, yo, let's go.

00:16:13.291 --> 00:16:16.561
And then it was a couple of days later, I was like, yo, we added 10 new levels.

00:16:16.561 --> 00:16:17.370
Have fun guys.

00:16:17.375 --> 00:16:24.691
And I was like, oh, no, So, so it, it's, it's my biggest achievement and my biggest l l on the game.

00:16:24.691 --> 00:16:38.910
and then I guess the runner up for that one would definitely have to be getting my first a hundred percent Pokemon and the funny thing is like, I didn't even, I wasn't aware of it Until I started doing the screenshots and sending a screenshot and running the screenshot through like a third party app to see the IVs.

00:16:39.211 --> 00:16:43.706
my first, a hundred percent Pokemon is a Seaking that I hatched like way back when.

00:16:44.308 --> 00:16:48.899
So what did it feel like when you got to level 40 all of a sudden to have the level cap increase on you?

00:16:49.495 --> 00:17:00.306
I was extremely infuriated because it was something that I was trying to get to before the level cap, and I was like, I at least wanna hit level 40, like before they do the level increase.

00:17:00.778 --> 00:17:06.897
At least wanted to hit level 40 and have like a long period of rest until they brought the level increase into the game.

00:17:07.496 --> 00:17:09.865
Well, you had about, what, four to five days it sounds like?

00:17:10.464 --> 00:17:15.529
I wanna say so, I'm trying to remember when I hit level 40, but it was like a couple of years ago when I hit level 40.

00:17:16.127 --> 00:17:20.958
Well, I hope you're enjoying the road to level 50, cuz that requires a lot more experience, that's for sure.

00:17:21.557 --> 00:17:27.738
Yeah, I'm definitely not having a good time with it because for a while I was ahead of Brandon for the longest time, now he's ahead of me on xp.

00:17:27.738 --> 00:17:28.488
Oh, wow.

00:17:28.488 --> 00:17:28.847
Yeah.

00:17:29.189 --> 00:17:31.558
Are you and Brandon pretty competitive when it comes to Pokemon Go?

00:17:32.163 --> 00:17:33.762
Yes, mainly for Shinies.

00:17:34.066 --> 00:17:40.395
I think the only time that Brandon has beaten me on Shinies for Community Day was Turtwig back in 2019.

00:17:40.695 --> 00:17:41.865
He beat me by like one.

00:17:42.465 --> 00:17:45.655
So y'all two compete on community day on who can catch the most shiny?

00:17:46.259 --> 00:17:51.025
Yeah, and then with me with my ridiculous shiny luck on this game compared to mainland games.

00:17:51.444 --> 00:17:55.789
it's, he, he does get a little salty vibe like, Like, don't worry about it, champ

00:17:56.930 --> 00:17:57.619
Ooh, tell me more.

00:17:57.650 --> 00:17:59.359
What kind of shiny look do you have with this game?

00:17:59.960 --> 00:18:03.075
For a while I was literally getting a shiny like every week.

00:18:03.375 --> 00:18:05.134
I'll get like the most random shinies ever.

00:18:05.433 --> 00:18:08.094
I got a Bellsprout, and a Bronzor too.

00:18:08.397 --> 00:18:09.928
I think those two were like on the same day.

00:18:09.928 --> 00:18:14.817
And then, for a while, I kept getting shiny Chikoritas out of nowhere, every time at my house.

00:18:15.327 --> 00:18:16.468
I was like, no.

00:18:16.798 --> 00:18:20.667
I was like, I was like, I like your chito, but why are you shiny I was like, I'll take you.

00:18:20.667 --> 00:18:21.627
I'm not gonna complain.

00:18:21.931 --> 00:18:30.830
But I think out of all the shinies that I liked the most and that I had gotten in the wild, is definitely, either Lunatone or Plusle.

00:18:31.434 --> 00:18:32.184
Well, that's awesome man.

00:18:32.488 --> 00:18:33.837
